Endocrinology
Thyroid Cysts Ablation
- A dual wavelength diode laser is used to ablate benign thyroid cysts.
- The treatment can be performed under ultrasound guidance. The laser light is applied to the tissue using guidance needles or applicators. The connection to ultrasound imaging allows the surgeon to plan and perform the treatment with minimal impact to the healthy tissue.
- The procedure is minimally invasive, typically performed on an outpatient basis, and involves minimal cutting or stitching.
Other treatments in Endocrinology involve the ablation of autonomous adenoma that cannot be treated with radioiodine therapy.
