Thousands of years ago the ancient Egyptians and Greeks already knew about the possibility of using sunlight as therapeutic light source for healing. The Greek god Apollo was even responsible for both: healing and light!
Bathing in sunlight is still a very pleasant and – if well-dosed – quite a beneficial experience. But nowadays the effect of laser light with its special properties for targeting specific interactions with tissue is well studied and implemented in numerous medical devices.
