Laser Distance Measurement – Range Finding (LRF)
Laser distance measurement systems (also known as LRF = laser range finding) calculate the distance by measuring the time it takes the laser light to travel to a specific target and back to the transceiver. They have a high accuracy and can even be used in very challenging environments.
That makes them ideal for all sorts of measurements in the field, and they become increasingly often used in industries such as sports (hunting, golf, archery), precision positioning in manufacturing, civil engineering (measuring building dimensions), geological studies (measuring terrain surface). So basically in every ambience where fast, accurate and reliable measurement data are crucial.
Typical operational wavelengths include 850, 940, 1550 nm. Some applications require a short-pulsed operation with wavelength stabilization. Lumics’ 14-pin butterfly packages are optimized to meet these stringent requirements.
