Ear Nose Throat (ENT) – Surgery
Laser Tonsillotomy for Pediatric Patients
- This procedure is commonly performed on children with “Kissing Tonsils” using diode lasers with wavelengths of 980nm and 1470nm.
- The laser offers a gentle, low-risk alternative to tonsillectomy with minimal post-operative bleeding and pain.
- The procedure allows for outpatient operations under general anesthesia, preserves tonsillar parenchyma, and results in a shorter healing period.
Additional ENT applications with diode lasers include the treatment of otosclerosis with diode laser single-shot stapedotomy and surgeries in the larynx.
