Ophthalmology
Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR)
- Due to blocked tear duct patients suffer from abnormal tearing.
- Laser-assisted DCR surgery creates new path “canal” for tears to drain between lacrimal sac and nasal cavity.
- The surgery is performed under endoscopic imaging using diode laser with 810nm, low power levels and thin fiber core diameters 100-150µm.
Laser Trabeculoplasty to Treat Glaucoma
- Fluid accumulation in anterior part of eye causes harmful pressure increase which can lead to vision loss.
- Precise focused laser beam creates opening in eye tissue enabling drainage and pressure adaption.
